This week can I think be best described as one of contrast. We have now moved from the cabin I referred to in my last blog on the Jungle clad, Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, to a hostel in the center of San Jose. Although not quite as picturesque, it has provided us with the perfect environment to really get on with our work. Our time here has been spent writing, filming, editing, planning, having meeting´s with some great people and at the same time trying to hold it together when it felt like everything was falling apart around us. As I said, it has been a week of contrast.
Although at times things have been pretty hard, the opportunity to learn and develop my skills I think are always so much greater when things don´t go quite how I imagined them. Plus it really makes you appreciate the days that go well. After all, talking about the importance of positivity when everything´s good is all very well, but it´s very different to be able to maintain that mentality in the midst of what feels like a nightmare. For me what I have taken most from the week´s more tricky moments is that is times like these when positivity really comes into its own.
An exciting development of this week has also been the start of what we hope to be an fantastic ongoing relationship with the Eco Preservation Society in Costa Rica. Our mutual goals of sustainable development, environmental protection, and a focus on what IS working should help us both develop, meaning that we can achieve our ultimate goals of sharing positive, functioning solutions to world issues with you all!
As we continue to connect with more and more inspiring organisations, projects and people at an ever increasing rate, we are realising that there is more good being done in this world than we could ever have dreamt of. This realisation has only served to reinforce our motives for the work we are doing and hope that you are as excited as we are for what is on its way over the next couple of months. That is all I will say for now. I know you love a bit of suspense!
I would also like to say a big thank you everyone who has been helping us this week, you know who you are, and you are all amazing!
